Meet Our New History Teacher - Jessica Brooks

The need for quality online Christian education continues to increase and that means more growth for Nimbus Christian Education (NCE). We’re so pleased to add another passionate educator to our team who loves God and teaching students - Meet Jessica Brooks!

Jessica recently joined NCE and is currently teaching grade 11 History in addition to developing an online physical education course. Prior to this, Jessica served in traditional Christian schools and private international schools. She is also currently working as an educational consultant. Jessica is passionate about exploring the world with her students and she is excited to do that in an online format.

As an online educator, Jessica appreciates the flexibility of creating her own hours and working when she’s at her best. She also recognizes the significant flexibility benefits for students as they work through the material. In addition, Jessica highly recommends a dedicated work time and space for students learning online to stay on track. She also suggests that students reach out for help before frustration sets in since teachers are specifically there to help.

Jessica believes that online learning can be very effective with well trained and effective teachers, “The quality of instruction will vary from school to school, but if flexibility is needed in a student's educational pathway, online learning is definitely something that people can look into for their child.”

Interesting facts about Jessica:
  • When she was a student, Jessica loved Science, Physical Education and English, but didn't like Math or French very much.
  • In her spare time, she enjoys various sports and outdoor activities.
  • She has three adult children and lives in southwestern Ontario with her husband, cat, dog and assorted foster animals.
  • Jessica has a black belt in Karate!

    Thank you for sharing this informative article with us. Last month when I was looking for volunteer opportunities in Winnipeg, I found a Spring Christian Academy. They offered me volunteer opportunities at their academy. So I decided to join their academy and be a part of Christian Preschool Winnipeg. I personally recommend you all working with this preschool.

Meet Our Math Teacher - Karen Timson
