Meet Our Business Teacher & Online Coop Course Developer - Ronald Holla

As Nimbus Christian Education continues to grow, the Lord remains faithful in providing phenomenal educators to the team. To meet the growing needs of all students, our faculty includes various experienced individuals. Each staff member brings a unique aspect to our educational model that is Christ-centred and student focused.

Once again, we are thrilled to introduce another invaluable member to the team to support our business courses and develop an online coop course - Meet Ronald Holla!

Ronald’s passion for education stemmed from teaching in Sunday School and speaking from the pulpit as a lay minister in both French and English. He graduated from Athabasca University with a Bachelor of General Studies in Business and French. Ronald went on to study Education, then History, graduating with a Masters in Education and a Masters in Arts from Royal Military College. Ronald has been teaching French, Business, History, English, Careers, Civics and Cooperative Education for 20 years. Bringing a Christian worldview into the subjects he teaches at Nimbus gives Ronald great joy.

Ronald is particularly enthusiastic about utilizing experiential learning as a valuable tool for students to gain high school credits for real work experiences, “Being able to offer online coop through Nimbus will enrich our students' education and allow them to try out new skills in a real world environment.” In addition, Ronald appreciates being able to develop a program that incorporates his creativity and apply Christian standards to work experience for students.

Interesting facts about Ronald Holla:

  • Ronald has been an officer with Air Cadets since 2014.
  • Although Ronald is also a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA), his least favourite subject as a student was math (he preferred History!).
  • Not only is Ronald an incessant reader of alternate histories, he’s also a writer of an Alternate New France where the French win the Battle of Quebec.
  • Ronald has been married for over 37 years and has 3 grandchildren.

Meet Our Math Teacher - Karen Timson

Above all else, each of our team members loves God and remains dedicated to helping students achieve their academic goals.  As Nimbus continues to grow, we’re excited about periodically highlighting our amazing team members. Today we are pleased to introduce one of our extraordinary senior math teachers, Karen Timson! Karen has worked for the York Region District School Board (YRDSB) throughout her teaching career in a variety of roles. In addition to teaching math, Karen has held leadership and consulting roles in the mathematics department.
