Exciting New Developments for the Upcoming School Year
To say it’s been a busy couple of months at Nimbus Christian Education would be a gross understatement! It’s been a transformative year and our team has been diligently working to meet the growing need for quality online Christian education. Another school year is upon us and we’re excited about our new courses and the additional staff members joining the Nimbus team.
New Courses for 2019-2020
Grade 11 Physics (University track)
Students in this hands-on learning course will receive a unique kit in the mail with various components to help them study electricity, sound waves, electromagnetism, forces, and more.
New Courses for 2020-2021
Grade 9 French (Academic)
Students in this interactive french class will meet with their fully bilingual teacher in real time to build on core french skills in addition to exploring their faith in french.
Grade 9 Science (Academic)
In this general science course, students study basic concepts in biology, chemistry, earth and space science, and physics, while relating science to technology, society, and the environment with a Christian worldview.
Grade 10 Computer Studies
Students will have an opportunity to plan and write simple computer programs in addition to studying hardware and software selections. The social and ethical impacts of computer technologies will also be examined from a biblical perspective.

We are fortunate to have an incredible group of experienced professionals on our team. From our invaluable teachers to our talented course developers - each one brings a spirit of excellence that is second to none. We are pleased to welcome the following new staff members to Nimbus Christian Education:
Matthew Bean, Math Teacher
For over 12 years Matt has been an educator working with teens and adults in the private education sector, both locally and globally. His experiences include teaching a broad spectrum of courses, including business, economics, math, geography, psychology, music and careers. Matt earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Trent University, and his Bachelor of Education degree at Queen's University.
Anne Petersen, Math Teacher
Anne has over 20 years of experience teaching in a home school setting, and tutoring mathematics online. She studied music at the University of Ottawa, and mathematics at the University of Waterloo.
Mary Vriezema, Math Teacher
Mary began her career as an educator in 2006, when she traveled to Seoul, South Korea to teach at Global Christian School following her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Guelph. She returned to Toronto to teach English as an additional language, then completed her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
Sharon Mulder, Science Course Developer
Sharon has been teaching since 2002 and currently teaches grade 8 at John Knox Christian School in Brampton. She has a BA from Wilfrid Laurier and BEd from Redeemer. Her love of online learning also led her to obtain her Master of Distance Education from Athabasca University. Sharon is also a Google Certified Teacher and uses a variety of technology tools to prepare students to be responsible Digital Citizens.
Tiffany Muresan, French Course Developer
Tiffany received her Bachelor of Science (majors in math and French) and Bachelor of Education from Redeemer University College in 2015. God has granted her opportunities to teach core French in Ontario and high school mathematics in Wuhan, China. Tiffany is passionate about helping students use the gifts God has given them to further His kingdom and to glorify Christ.
