Nimbus Christian Education’s first Not-A-Snow-Day

Across the province today some of the communities we partner with are having snow days and students are staying home from school. Nimbus Christian Education is not. Despite bad weather our students are still able to keep learning.
I’m of two minds about this. One part of me is sad, while the other is excited.
I remember snow days as a child with such joy! Getting out of bed and discovering that you had this great surprise with a whole day to do nothing but play. My strongest memory comes from the day there was so much freezing rain that I pulled on my skates in the morning and skated on main street in town. I spent almost the whole day outside on my skates going everywhere because there was so much ice.
But the world is different than when I grew up.
I’m excited about how we can be so much more flexible about how and where our children learn. We don’t face the same limits that we did. I’m looking forward to exploring what this means for us in the future.
So while I feel sadness about losing something that was beautiful, there are new horizons ahead.
